Wyse C10Le Firmware How To Get ThemWyse C10Le Firmware Update One ThatA coworker had to call Dell not long ago to manually update one that had fallen out of compliance, and I have others that are lagging behind, and not sure how to get them up to speed. Unfortunately, my coworker didnt see exactly what Dell did or where they got their files. All the thin clients in question here are covered under warrantysupport. I searched Google and I think I found update files for other OSs, but the links for ThinOS took me into an infinite loop. Below are the steps for anyone with ThinOS and the Wyse Management Suite: 1. Log into the Dell Digital Locker. Go to Products on the left. Click on Available Downloads. Download the file and then extract the contents. Inside youre looking for a generic file ending in wnos. Next, log into the Wyse Management Suite. Go to Apps Data OS Image Repository ThinOS. Upload the wnos file and give it a name. Edit your ThinOS policy and go to the Firmware Upgrade option on the left. Configure the following options: Disable Live Upgrade: this will prevent the thin client from rebooting whenever it is done with an update. Firmware Update Logic: You can choose from New Firmware, or Any Different Firmware if you want to allow downgrades. Skip Local Firmware Check Verify Signature Choose your platform and firmware. Save Publish the changes. Hopefully this helps someone else out there. If the devices are covered under warranty, get some support from Dell. So you didnt hear back from the rep that your coworker spoke with. Like MS articles. One details something for problem A, and its 4 pages long, then random internet user A comes along and publishes a blog or something and puts the same thing into 2 sentences. I contact Dell for plenty of stuff, and still will for this if no one has the steps. And, of course, if I can get a hold of them, Ill post back here so others can benefit. I see an entry to configure for firmware updates, but it basically sounds like the options are check on startup and load right away. Regardless of what is selected, systems that are out of compliance do not receive the latest updates.
